Land grant on parchment allocating 12,000 acres of land to Jean Pierre Purry, from a total of 48,000 reserved for him along the north shore of the Savannah River, for the purpose of settling a colony of Swiss emigrants. The grant includes a survey of the land. It is signed by James St. John, surveyor general, as well as Thomas Broughton, lieutenant governor of South Carolina.
